Job Description

Finstech Recruitment are looking for an experienced Software Engineer/Developer to work with our insurance broker client on an exciting project.  Our client has developed an Azure based Broking application which it is expanding to various countries across the world.  There is a large backlog of work including the development of new features for new countries onboarding & existing business users, so experience of closely with stakeholders to deliver great projects in an Agile way would be very beneficial. 

The successful candidate will be an experienced Software Engineer/Developer used to working as part of an Agile delivery team, ideally within the insurance broking industry.  Recent experience with AngularJS and SQL Azure is a must, as is the ability to quickly apply their technical knowledge & experience to a new project and add immediate value.  The successful candidate will work alongside the Broking Platform delivery team and will be home based, although travel to the Ipswich and/or London offices may be required on occasion. 

The role is paying up to £600 a day, inside of IR35, on a 6 month contract with a good chance of an extension due to the size and strategic nature of this project.  All necessary hardware will be provided by the client as access to their networks is required to successfully support the project.

Requirements

  • Partner with subject-matter experts, business partners, product owners, developers, testers and architects to ensure that the proposed solution is mapped to business outcomes.
  • Designs will ensure that solutions are modelled logically, consistently and intuitively, ensuring that they perform optimally within agreed tolerances.
  • Peer review of code from development team members and third-party providers, with a focus on maintainability and performance.
  • Ensure solutions are built to best practices and patterns for application development and integration.
  • User experience, understanding how technology can help the user to successfully complete a task.
  • Working with DevOps and Delivery Managers to provide active management of the continuous integration/continuous deployment processes through Azure DevOps.
  • Showcasing of product increments to the wider team and stakeholders
